Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda yang bermaksud: “Doa itu ialah ibadat.”
Riwayat Bukhari

Huraian:

Doa adalah Istiksaat (memohon pengampunan dan pertolongan) dan hanya Allah S.W.T sahaja yang dapat memberikannya.

Orang yang berdoa hendaklah melahirkan kehinaan dan kerendahan diri serta menyatakan hajat dan tunduk kepada Allah sebagai menunjukkan bahawa kita berhajat kepada Allah untuk memperolehi sesuatu yang kita kehendaki.

Doa adalah suatu ibadat yang sangat penting kedudukannya dan sangat mahal nilainya bahkan ia adalah pintu yang paling utama daripada pintu-pintu ibadah yang lain dalam meperhambakan diri kepada Allah.

Apabila seseorang itu berdoa maka hendaklah ia melakukannya dengan sebaik-baiknya dan dengan memelihara adab-adabnya. Dengan itu barulah doanya akan dimakbulkan oleh Allah S.W.T.
